The First Note

This season of my life has been a long time coming. I started taking piano lessons when I was five years old. I'm a preacher's kid and if you know anything about these fine folk, you know that it often fell to them to play for any and all church services. By the time I was 11, I was firmly planted at the piano bench in my dad's church, and grew to love the impact I had on the community through making music. When I turned 17 I was asked to come on staff at a local music school. I knew after teaching my first lesson this career would stay with me in some capacity for the rest of my life. After I finished my formal studies I taught Elementary Classroom music for eight years and resumed teaching in established music schools.  That was in 1992 and I have not stopped since.

The Future Sounds Good

This last year has seen me re-evaluate much that I have achieved in my life. It has also been a time when I've needed to ask myself, "What now? What do I want to do that I haven't done?" I find myself drawn back to the world of music and teaching, but this time working for myself, in a full time capacity. My market research has shown me the East Abbotsford area where I live is underserved by music studios and shows great potential for growth.
